Portfolio Club after school art program

For serious young artists

Our After School Art Program on the Danforth in Toronto is perfect for kids who want to have fun and enjoy making art, but what about when kids have mastered foundational art skills?

We’ve launched Portfolio Club to create an educational environment with professional artist instructors supporting youth to deepen their creative skills and build their artistic voice. It’s an inspiring space for students to develop a portfolio of work they can use to apply to specialized programs in high school and beyond.

Students are welcomed by invitation or application to ensure we provide a positive and supportive environment for everyone.

Program Overview

Our Portfolio Club aims to build a creative community among young teens. We provide a convenient and fun way to take advanced art classes that fit around other interests your child may have.

To join Portfolio Club, students are either invited by one of our instructors or can submit an application. We expect that students are independent and responsible, treating each other, the staff, the studio and tools with respect and care.

Students are welcome to join at any point through the school year, if we have space available. Please note this is a small group program, limited to ten students per day.

The Nitty-Gritty

Timing. Portfolio Club runs 5 days a week from 3:30pm – 5:30pm. Sign up for two or more days of the week.
Arrival. Students will be expected to make their own way to the studio, but pick up is available.

Absences. If students will miss a day, please let us know in advance. They can make up the missed session another day.
Instructors. Each day features a different instructor, with expertise in drawing, painting, sculpting, design, and fashion.

Materials. Each student will receive a labeled storage box to keep their projects safe and a sketchbook. Shared studio materials will be available and must be cleaned and put away each day.

Ready to join?

Please send us an email to ask about your child joining the program. If we don’t yet know your child, we’ll send you the application package. If we do know your child, we’ll ask the instructors most familiar with their skills for a recommendation to the program.

Monthly fees are billed automatically and range from $379 to $679 plus hst depending on the number of days per week.

Any students feeling unwell or exhibiting contagious symptoms should stay home if possible. Should students become unwell during our program, they will be asked to wear a mask to reduce transmission to other students and staff.
