Learn the art of sewing in these step-by-step classes for adults and teens 16+.
Complete beginner? Start with Hand Sewing to learn the key techniques including knots, stitch types, patterns, buttons and more, as you explore how to sew and mend by hand.
Know your knots, stitch types, and can read a pattern? Machine sewing could be for you. Learn how to use and take care of a sewing machine, the right types of stitches and needles based on fabric type, and more!
Both classes will complete at least one project and you’ll gain a wealth of knowledge to help make your own projects. We also run specific classes where you focus on developing and personalizing a complete project, like clothing item or a backpack, during the full session.

The perfect introduction to learning how to sew, we’ll guide you through the essential skills and techniques you need, including knots, stitch types, patterns and more. We recommend starting with Hand Sewing to cover the essential sewing and pattern skills, before proceeding to our Machine Sewing classes.
Learn to Sew: Machine Sewing
When you’re feeling confident about your hand sewing skills and know how to use patterns, join our Machine Sewing classes to learn more advanced techniques using our Janome Sewing Machines, as well as learning how to create more creative and challenging projects.
